Strategic thinking, collaboration and deployment of technological solutions (PIM, GS1, Commerce) can lead to improvements in operations. Initiating digital transformation is hugely important for creating a future-proof organization.
PGZ International is a full-service logistics service provider for A-brands. PGZ is a provider of products and concepts for retailers, building material dealers and e-commerce organizations.
PGZ International was struggling with a fragmented digital landscape due to the amount of systems within the organization. As a result, there was a wide variety of internal system and data managers. Ensuring data quality for GS1 compliancy and logistics processes, among others, was enormously difficult. A shame, because these processes contribute directly to the organization's revenue.
In short, there was an urgent need for digital transformation, but it lacked a clear business case and internal support to make it happen. So the main question was, "How can we at PGZ International become a better, data-driven organization?"
Through a series of three interactive business analysis sessions, a clear business case for initiating digital transformation within the organization was formulated.
It starts with a kick-off session. Mapping the organization, systems and stakeholders. A clear overview of the current digital landscape is created.
In doing so, we move to an analysis of systems and processes. Analyzing key processes in conjunction with their associated systems.
Finally, we are working on a business case. Working out the desired future processes and digital landscape. The digital roadmap has been created.
When applying digital transformation, it is important to take
a reasoned approach. It is good to think big and start small.
This way you create support from both management and employees. Both
stakeholders influence success.
Improve efficiency and data quality through automation.
A structured data model is
crucial for effective data management.
Select an appropriate PIM package and consolidate PIM with a DAM system.
Establish data governance policies and quality assurance of internal processes.
